Why is She here?

Posted on Sun Aug 19th, 2018 @ 8:21am by Gunnery Sergeant Roderik Kos & Lieutenant Nevada McKay M.D.

630 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Mission 0: Everybody Has A Story
Location: USS Phantom
Timeline: Before the Final Briefing of the Bynar mission.

Nevada grunted softly as she stood slowly. "So…listen..I'm not exactly sure what to do now…but if keeps you from being a bull dog on me I'm willing to comply," she muttered keeping her hands raised and out from her body, as she tried to mirror the Compliance postures she'd seen all those years ago in the academy.

"Move or be carried." Rodi growled and nodded towards the hatch leading forward. His baton was still expanded and by his side, and his frustration wasn't worked out yet.

"Of Course," she nodded softly as she started to move. "you'll need to tell me where to head…I've Never been on this class of ship…So I'm a little lost."

The exhaustion of his two fights, the wounds, and just the clearing of adrenaline had Rodi sounding dog-tired. "Forward, next hatch left."

Nevada walked forward Taking the Turn he'd indicated wide, to ensure she never once left his sight line.

The walk was brief. The forcefield snapped into place moments later. Rodi finally put away his baton and felt his adrenaline finally subside. He took several seconds before of deep breathing. "Name, rank, posting?" He asked in a less growling one as he took a nearby PADD.

"Lieutenant JG Nevada McKay, And in all Technicality....Maximum security Lock up On Elba 2 Pending psychiatric Rehabilitation," she said reluctantly as she lowered her arms towards her belt where a large cylinder was strapped. "not to...ah...rouse the Bull Dog as it were, but I'd highly recommend You Deactivate this," she said as she lowered the storage tank to the Ground and took several steps back. "I doubt My...late Compatriot has back up, but I'd rather not risk it." she nodded softly.

"Another step back." Rodi said, looking at the cannister and then back to Nevada.

"Not a problem," The Doctor nodded and stepped back.

He then approached, bowed down and examined the device for a moment before picking it up and ensuring the safety is active. "How did you end up here?" He asked after another moment.

"I was in route to A prison Colony, the ship was Hijacked By Section 31," she muttered. "They wanted to make me help them expose what ever your Group is...but Fuck them...fucking ass holes," she huffed and smirked at him.

Rodi marked it down on his PADD, realizing he'd have to figure out how she was taken and then to figure out how to return her back to the colony. "Hmm."

"So now, the Big pulsating Green symbol needs to be rotated ninety degree's," She shrugged as she leaned back. "that will put the Nanoprobes in standby mode."

"Noted." Rodi commented. "Why Section 31?"

"Probably because of what your currently holding," she shrugged. "Modified borg nanoprobes designed to Modify DNA in microbiological life," she paused and looked up at him. "I have no affiliation with them to be honest."

"Your design?" He asked, securing the weapon as instructed and putting it away.

She nodded slowly. "Yeah, they were intended to be used to help Jump Start The Terraforming process on Planets, Helping stabilize the atmosphere through natural processes rather then Requiring Huge Atmospheric processors that are shoddy at best."

"And you weaponized them?" Rodi asked, taking notes again.

"No," she said flatly. "The canister those Jarheads put it in was weaponized...the Probes are Harmless unless you inject yourself with them....and at that point you're just asking for it," she Grumbled and leaned against he bulkhead. "The main reason they wanted them was that the probes have Subspace transmitters in them, they wanted to track you."

A final notation was made. "You'll be further interviewed later. Food will be brought too." He turned on his heels and strode out, cannisters in hand.
