Mission 0: Everybody Has A Story
Location: Mars Campus, Starfleet Intelligence Training Facility
Timeline: Late 2378
The time hand finally come for the infamous 'Dance Class'. Arianna found, ever since agreeing to join the ranks of Starfleet Intelligence that everything had more than one meaning, came with extra to what you may have thought and that nothing was clear cut.
Sure, when it came to cases the procedures were the same, for both Starfleet Security, the Behavioral Analysis Team so the re-adjustment period there was less than she'd originally anticipated. However intelligence gathering methods? Much much more broad and much more involved than she had experience with.
While she was with Security, she acted on Intel they already had and supplied her own as she found it. With Intel, you built it from the ground up. It gave her a much better understanding of how involved these processes were, how much all the security branches of the Federation operated and depended on each other.
One often heard of animosities between each, and often time it stemmed from those that didn't come up through the ranks of Security, but other departments, where the understanding of interconnections was not as prevalent. It all served to make Arianna more aware of how unified they all really were and needed to be.
The year's training was nearly done, only a few weeks left to go before she'd receive her first assignment. She'd heard about this 'Dance Class' since the first day she'd arrived, but the class never happened, until the message in the middle of the night.
So now, Ari stood in front of Holodeck 13, dressed in a long flowing dress, her hair elaborately done up, make up applied according to the brief. Was it under cover work that this was going to involve?
"Only one way to find out." Ari told herself as she stepped through.
Into a high-school gymnasium. There were several people sitting on the rafters, talking, some were playing games, some were watching the podium. On said podium a tall, well leanly built but strong male, dressed in a tank top, emphasizing his taut muscles, a slight sheen of sweat gracing the visible skin. He wore slacks that hugged his behind very flatteringly.
Next to him a younger woman, with long, wavy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, dressed in a very tight, very short skirt, the bottom of her shapely, bare legs graced by high heels. She wore a strapless crop top and heavy make up to match.
The people around them were in various state of dress, with few matching eachother on style and tone.
"Ah, Arianna, good mornin'." The man in the tank top turned to face her, with a bright, beaming smile.
It was Lieutenant Commander Alexander Night, her training officer. Well hers and may others as there weren't enough trainers per number of trainees so they had to take on multiple apprentices.
The irishman was always bright and in good humor. Relaxed, yet always switched on. It was a mannerism that Arianna had tried to adopt over the last few months. His motives, to her at least, were always clear, yet she'd hear from others how they could never quite tell what he was thinking. Well, most others, TO Sinara always could.
The El-Aurian woman was more of a mystery to Ari, than Alex. Another person with a lesson that Ari the sponge tried to soak up.
"Ari, this is Leonora Wolf, she just joined us a few days ago." Night broke through her thoughts, his tone carrying a soft irish twang. He was trying to be understood by all as opposed to his normal, thicker accent.
The other woman on the podium, turned to face Ari, a reserved smile on her face hand extended. "Good to meet you, I'm Leah." The woman's nordic accent was present but clear.
Ari nodded and shook the woman's hand. "Ari. Just a few days and you've got the honor to take the 'Dance Class' so early? You're lucky mate...or unfortunate, depending what this actually ends up being."
Leah nodded with a chuckle, "I know, right? I was told of it come landing, but noone would say what it was."
"Same," Ari replied with a grin.
Night chuckled as he watched the exchange. "Alright e'eryone, ears up! Rafters, you know your jobs. Ladies, we're going to practice observation."
"Observation?" Leah asked.
Night nodded, "aye. Whilst the standard tradecraft tests are still being taught, ya'll need to be exposed to tense, charged, uncomfortable situations an' still be able t' keep yer 'ead in the game an' observe yer serroundings 360 degrees, regardless of wha' is 'appenin' t ye."
Ari nodded, observation with distraction. Now their outfits, and his made sense.
Night snapped his fingers and a waltz type music began playing. He extended his arm towards Ari.
She placed her hand in his and was instantly whisked away into a spin.
He pulled her close and pressed his cheek against hers for a moment, "the couple on our 6 o'clock, what are they doing?"
Before Ari could even find them, he sent her in a twirl and adjusted their position.
"Um, the man was playing some sort of board game..." Ari managed to say as she came out of the spin, but was soon filtered into a new move that made it hard to focus on anything other than warm hands around her waist and sneaking up her back.
"What else? Focus. If you look too intently, they'll suss you." Alex's voice whispered in her ear as he increased physical sensory input, his fingers becoming more bold, It didn't help at all that he was a very handsome, very confident man whose voice she found very attractive as well.
The music around them changed to a more sensual one, with a latin background and Alex changed the dance to a flamenco, turning Ari around and into a dip. "Come on, not going to get a third go."
Frost forced herself to disconnect from the physical sensations and focus on the task at hand. The man was playing a chess like game, and the woman was talking to him filing her nails.
He pulled her out of the dip and slowed the tempo down, making her focus on him, stepping closer into her personal space as she placed a hand on his shoulder for leverage and hooked a leg around his waist. "He's playing chest, dark clothes, late twenties, she was filing her nails, red or brown hair, slightly older."
"Good," he said, as he supported her thigh into a dip, his voice low and hoarse, his breath just grazing her bare neck and shoulder. She could also feel her dress slip back a bit in the dip as he performed the dance move and pulled her in the opposite direction. "Find the young Trill in blue, age, gender, mannerism...anything."
"Fuuuuck!" Her mind screamed at her. He was making this very difficult. Concentrating on a task that could mean life or death for her or the person tied to the matter was extremely difficult when your senses were being assaulted and manipulated in just the right way. Night was clearly very skilled in seduction and romance, knowing which button to push to distract, where to touch, where to stroke to unbalance.
Part of her couldn't help but wonder if he was like this privately, or if this was just the persona and the energy he brought to the task or the role he needed to play. They were all chameleons, she knew that. Some were better than others in being one.
She couldn't afford to think about that though, her focused, rational mind fought back. No matter how much her physical and emotional self may have wanted to. No, she had a task, locate the young Trill identify as much as she could about him.
Ari lifted up her arms, following through the solo movements of the flamenco, trying to take in the room, without making it seem like she was specifically looking for the Trill. Night followed the dance with the male routine and she tried not to look at him, it was too tempting.
There, just behind Alex's right shoulder! Early twenties, gender unclear, curly light brown hair, a long blue coat, with....bare feet! There was something in his hands but she couldn't make it out. She needed more, so she put her energy into the flare of the movements of the dance so that she could sneak in a few more glances before her assignment time ran out.
She felt Alex at her back again, one arm supporting her extended arm, the other gently coaxing a leg up as another dip was called for.
Frost shoved the temptation in her mind away with violence as she followed the gentle directions. A PADD, cardassian by the looks of it! That's it! He was very focused on the cardassian PADD.
She found herself pressed against Alex's torso again, warm breath dancing over her exposed skin. Green eyes caught blue and she had to fight a mighty fight with herself not to lean up and close the gap. He was smirking at her. Knowingly. Smirking...quickly, she scrambled to re-compose herself and forced herself to speak. "Early twenties, unclear gender, light brown curly hair, focused on a cardassian PADD held in both hands."
Night nodded as the music behind them transitioned back into a waltz. "Now, I want you to pick two targets and run Leah through the same thing. Your skin is flushed, your pupils are dilated and you want nothing more than to fuck me right here, right now," he said in a husky tone. "Make her feel all of it, all of what I made you feel. Take control."
The dance took them a few feet away from the center as the music came to a halt and Night stepped away from her. He gave her a respectful bow, which Ari returned, taking a few deep breaths to re-center herself. He wasn't wrong, she knew.
As she nodded to Alex and turned to walk over to Leah, the music changed to a salsa like tune and Frost moved into the dance moves, putting a sway in her hips as she did so. She didn't wait for Leah to accept, but rather raised her hand and touched Leah's face lightly with her fingers, lips slightly parted.
It took Leah a moment to realize what was going on, but soon enough the long haired blonde began moving in sync to the salsa dance moves, Arianna taking the role of the man, while Leah took on the role of the woman.
As the two women moved into the rhythm, Leah had to chuckle at Arianna's bold move, the Australian's hand pressed against the bare skin on her back, gently guiding her where she wanted her to go. She was a lot closer to her than normal, personal space was not a thing it seemed.
Frost leaned in closer to her and Leah found that the woman's green eyes were bright, sparkling with just a touch of grey in them, beautiful, "trio behind you, one of them has something they are arguing over, as much as you can, about them, and it...."She was talking. Shit, she needed to focus.
The music around them grew even more sensual, and Frost slowed down the tempo, ghosting her fingers along Leah's bare shoulder as she turned the woman around. "Focus..." Frost said, "and go!"
Ghosting fingers didn't stop at her shoulder though and Leah had to swallow hard and focus. She was already hyped up from the sensual display of Night and Frost, and now she was on the receiving end of the athletic australian.
"Two men, one woman..." Leah spoke and her breath hitched as Frost slunk an arm around her bare midriff, guiding the movements with her hips, the other hand gently moving her hair from the other shoulder to her back. Wolf fought a shudder as she ground back into Arianna. "Starfleet...Ops or Security, male on the left..."
Ari's fingers danced up her left arm, arm coaxed up and into a dip, before she was pulled up and twirled again, this time Frost being her obstruction.
Leah moved to wrap her arm around Ari's shoulder, in an a attempt to get another peek, but Ari countered it, by pressing their their bodies together and ghosting a feather light breath along Leah's bare neck. Wolf nearly lost all coherent thought at that. Her breath hitched and she couldn't bring herself to move away from the mock ministration.
"Focus, Leah." Ari's breathy voice came.
For a moment, but just for a moment, Leah wished she wasn't affected this way by both men and women. For a moment she wished she only preferred men.
"Focus..." Ari's voice was dangerously close.
Yes, she needed to focus, fuck, she needed to focus. So on the next spin, she caught the other two, a blonde woman with spikey hair, and...the moment was gone too soon. Fuck, she missed the call.
"Next to the entrance..." Ari guided them into the next set of moves, "what's the man in black doing." Frost slid Leah's right leg up and around her hip, sending the rest of her into a dip again, supported between her shoulder blades.
The warm hand on her thing was not helping! At all!
"He's..." It was difficult discern upside down, "cigar, he's twirling a cigar." Leah said finally as Ari pulled her up.
Leah's cheeks were flushed even harder than her own, blue eyes bright, shining, pupils dilated. Arianna smirked at her, success.
The music stopped within a few moments and the two women stepped away, giving each other a bow as a round of applause echoed throughout the room.
"Well done, ladies, well done." Night said as he stepped over to them, clapping as well.
Leah took a few deep breath, not wanting the buzz to wear off just yet as the two women grinned at each other. "You're good, Frosty. Especially for a straight dama."
"Dama?" Ari gave Leah a theatrical bow.
"Chick."
This made Arianna laugh, "thank ye, Pup. You make it hard to stay on the path, mind."
Leah had to laugh in turn, "well, then my job is done." Words were punctuated by a small bow as they both looked over at Night. "I did get a bit jealous at you two though. Wouldn't have minded a twirl myself."
Night observed the interaction with amusement. "Do ye both understand why we 'ad to do this exercise?" He acknowledged the compliment with a nod.
"Other than to get it off?" Leah's question didn't hold amusement.
Night nodded, "other than that, aye." While he maintained a smile, his eyes grew serious.
Frost thought for a moment, "because we'd find ourselves in a situation like this, with no support.."
"Or backup not being close by..." Night added with a nod, arms crossed on his chest.
"With intense distraction..." Then it hit her, "in a clinch with an enemy agent."
Night nodded again.
"We need to know how to do our job and get out of it safely and not get distracted, no matter how hard it is." Ari added.
"And be able to take control and distract the other party to prevent them from doing the same." Leah's own understanding kicked in.
Night nodded, "aye. Ye must raise beyond yer base desires because the enemy will use it against ye. They will push the right buttons...a professional honeytrap...ye won't know ye got potted till its too late. I'd like my team t' be better than that. The job comes first."
Arianna nodded, "can we have more classes, Alex? Switch it around? Experience a wider range? I'm only here for a few more weeks..."
Night nodded, "aye, we're going ter be doing more o' these." He then looked over at Leah. "Wishing yeh stayed with the FHO yet?" He nudged Leah's shoulder gently.
Wolf chuckled, "nah. I just didn't expect it to be so intense." Said the norwegian. "More classes sound good. Think you could get us a female trainer as well? The broader the field the better?"
Alex chuckled, "I know just the person. For now...let's go do a few more rounds. Yeh two can take the stand and pull two down to take yer place, get a scenario going for yerselves they ave to watch for."
Both Leah and Ari nodded.
"A'right e'eryone, Leah and Ari will pick two fer the podium next. Get ready!" He called, voice coming out strong and carried.
Leah and Ari looked at each other with a smirk and headed over to the pair that was filing nails and playing chess as the music started playing again in the background softly, as if to prep itself for the crescendos.
